The initial visit will be an evaluation. We see children for an evaluation prior to deciding therapy needs. The evaluation will allow you and the therapist to discuss your concerns as well as functional skills you would like your child to develop. The therapist will also engage your child in a variety of activities to get a better idea of what is impacting function.
At the end of the evaluation, the therapist will discuss with you how much therapy your child will benefit from. Typically children are scheduled to come once a week for therapy. We schedule these appointments on the same day and time each week to provide families with a consistent schedule. These weekly sessions could last for several months or longer. Depending on your child’s needs, their sessions may be increased to twice weekly or reduced to a lesser frequency.
